David R. Tarella, CLU®, ChFC®

As a financial services professional, David is a strategic thinker with a highly innovative mindset. He founded Tarella Financial Group to meet the needs of business owners and executives. As a Chartered Financial Consultant, David brings extensive knowledge and understanding as he recommends solutions for his client’s retirement planning, estate planning, wealth management, as well as business succession and executive and employee compensation and benefits. He excels at helping his clients to crystallize their goals while helping them create a road map for their success.

As a charter Member agent of The Nautilus Group®, a Service of New York Life, David belongs to an elite group of financial professionals and has exclusive access to the in-house support of planning professionals with credentials in law, taxation, accounting, insurance and finance. David is also an Investment Adviser Representative with Eagle Strategies LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser. The combination of resources of The Nautilus Group® and Eagle Strategies LLC enhance David’s ability to provide a more comprehensive platform for his high net worth clients and business clients.

While serving his clients in the past 33 years, David has received numerous industry awards and recognitions including serving as President of New York Life’s Agent Advisory Council, 1996-97, Board of Directors, The Nautilus Group, 1998, President, Board of Directors of New York Life Agents Reinsurance Company, 2006-2008, and a consistent 33 year member of MDRT, which is recognized throughout the industry as the standard of excellence in life insurance sales performance. David holds an A.A.S. in hotel management from Paul Smiths College in upstate New York, and earned his CLU® and ChFC® designations from The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA. Deeply connected to his community, David currently serves on the boards of Saratoga Bridges.

Michael R. Testa, CRPS®

Senior Financial Advisor

Michael specializes in helping families and business owners organize and simplify their financial house and maintain and active role in keeping it that way forever. Michael utilizes his resources with the Tarella and Testa Financial Group in a structured manner to best provide the right solutions for clients to ultimately follow their dreams and to stay the course actively.

Michael has been in the industry for a total of 16 years. He was born and raised in the Capital Region and extended his education at Siena College in Loudonville, NY where he graduated with a degree in Investment Management. Michael is married to his wife Ashely and they have a beautiful daughter Dylan. Passions include educating the community on wealth building, fitness competitions and Real Estate.

Michelle Powers

Michelle D. Powers

Michelle is a Licensed Service Assistant to David R. Tarella and is responsible for the underwriting process of Life, Long Term Care and Disability Income policies as well as all Fixed Annuity Products. She also assists in the daily operations of the day-to-day business to ensure that clients receive quality service.

Michelle has worked for Tarella and Testa Financial Group since 2002. She has over 30 years' experience in the insurance industry, and her extensive background in life insurance makes her a great asset to Tarella and Testa Financial Group.

Michelle has a New York State Life Accident and Health License. She lives in Queensbury and has two daughters, a son in law and two grandchildren.

Tai St. John

Tai is an Executive Administrative Assistant for the firm. As an Executive Administrative Assistant, Tai is responsible for helping with numerous tasks including maintaining and updating client accounts. Tai joined Tarella and Testa Financial Group in 2018. Before joining the firm, Tai had spent her last 15 years in the finance and insurance industry in management and recruiting. Tai joined our team as a seasoned expert and is a great addition to our team. Tai currently holds her NYS Life, Accident, and Health license.

Tai lives in Saratoga Springs with her husband Kaz, their children Davion and Kendall, and their dog Apollo. Tai enjoys playing competitive recreational tennis in the Capital Region, going to the beach, watching her children compete in their respected sports, and spending time with family and friends.

Donna Miranda

Donna is a Licensed Assistant for the firm. She has over 25 years of experience working in the financial industry. As a Licensed Assistant, Donna holds a series 7, 63 and 31 licenses as well as her NYS Life, Accident, and Health license. She is also a NYS Notary Public. Donna’s responsibility includes creating client proposals, and oversees the firm’s administration of investment advisory business. Donna joined Tarella and Testa Financial Group in 2019. Donna is a resident of Clifton Park and enjoys her garden and family and friends.
